-Back stage passes to shows being put on by the VO
-Tix to previews
-Access to master teachers and classes
-Apprenticeship programs
-Participation in the VO Festival at Queen Elizabeth Theatre and Playhouse venue (funded by the TD bank) in the month of May

Colleen Maybin is VO’s Director of Education & Community Engagement.  Colleen will be our liaison between the two institutions. With this connection comes access and potential for working relationships with the following:

-VO has an official relationship with UBC Opera program (NB The Director of UBC’s Opera Faculty is currently conducting a study looking at students with Dyslexia that appear to excel in Opera)

-VO works in partnership with community organizations including DareARTS as well as arts organizations such as the Royal Conservatory of Music

-VO is actively involved in both the BCMEA and ABCDE  

-VO provides teacher training through the Music Champions program

-VO’s education programs are supported by its Education Advisory Committee, an advisory council of administrators, teachers and industry experts.  Paige Hansen sits on this committee.
